Dr. Kimberlé Crenshaw, Professor of Law at UCLA and Columbia Law School, will be speaking at the University of Amsterdam on Tuesday, June 11th, to discuss her work on intersectionality, a term she coined to capture the ways in which multiple forms of discrimination compound in the lives of women at intersections of systems of subordination. Dr. Crenshaw will be interviewed by WGSS Visiting Assistant Professor and Diversity Scholar Dr. Lyn Tjon Soei Len, and will focus on intersectionality and its importance for feminist activism, legal thought, and inclusion and equity.
The event will be livestreamed from 3pm - 5pm Central European Standard Time (9am - 11am EST) on Tuesday, June 11th, which can be viewed on the university's media website. For more information, please visit the University of Amsterdam Law School website.
