The Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies encourages students to become involved with campus and local organizations to help extend the Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies message outside the classroom. Ohio State is home to a wide range of student groups concerned with issues of gender, sexuality, and social justice. Columbus, Ohio, is also home to many excellent nonprofit agencies where students can intern for a semester or volunteer for a good cause. Undergraduate students are also encouraged to explore study abroad programs that can offer excellent opportunities for feminist analysis on a global scale. All of these opportunities enhance learning and may provide an advantage in the job market.
Student Organizations
In addition to internships, activist organizations and study abroad trips, there are also other opportunities for WGSS students to become involved in the larger campus and Ohio community.
