The Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies encourages students to become involved with WGSS, campus, and local organizations and initiatives to help extend the Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies message outside the classroom. Ohio State University is home to a wide range of student groups concerned with issues of gender, sexuality, and social justice. Columbus, Ohio is also home to many excellent nonprofit agencies where students can conduct internships for a quarter or volunteer for a good cause. Undergraduate students are also encouraged to contact Career Services to explore experiential learning opportunities such as internships, volunteer positions, or off-campus research positions related to Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies.

RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800. 656.HOPE, online.rainn.org y rainn.org/es) in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country and operates the DoD Safe Helpline for the Department of Defense.
