Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Amika Starr (they/them) is a Thai-American researcher and MA student in the Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Ohio State University. Their research focuses on Thai-American women's horror literature, understanding this niche genre as a rhetorical and cultural space fraught with discussions on mixed-raciality, immigration, female sexuality, and madness.

Amika is also interested in asexuality and aromanticism as identities and experiences that are greatly underrepresented in queer theory, and, relatedly, queer/trans of color critique. How might the additional centering and consideration of asexual and aromantic bodies into the study of queer Asian America improve our understanding of race, ethnicity, sexuality, and gender?
