WGSS Welcomes A. Marie Ranjbar!
We are happy to announce the department's newest faculty member, A. Marie Ranjbar.
Azita will have completed her dissertation from Penn State University in the fields of Geography and Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Her research focuses on critical geopolitics, transnational feminist theory, postcolonial theory, and feminist ethics.
This fall she will be teaching WGSST 2305 - Gender and Sexuality in Global Perspective (36112) which will focus on the experiences of Muslim women. This course investigates gender and sexuality in a transnational and cross-cultural perspective. Students will examine a variety of global processes and approaches, including colonialism, nationalism, decolonization, postcolonialism, globalization and neocolonialism.
