Professor Treva Lindsey, assistant professor of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies wrote Cosmopolitan article "The Rape Trial Everyone in American Should Be Watching" that was published Tuesday, November 10th. The piece discusses the Daniel Holtzclaw trial in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, how little coverage there is on the case, and what it means about how the American legal system and police force continue to ignore and perpetuate crimes against black women.

She then published another article with Cosmopolitan titled, "A Serial Rapist Is in Jail, but the Healing for Victims Has Just Begun" published January 26, 2016 after Daniel Holtzclaw's sentencing. This piece discusses the burden of proof that rests on black women in our country and the national momentum from activist groups like #BlackLivesMatter and #SayHerName that has made justice in these cases more tangible.
