WGSS Senior Lidia Garcia Berrelleza recently received the 2021 Outstanding Senior Award!

The Outstanding Senior Award is a type of Student Life Leadership Award, given each year by the Office of Student Life Student Activities board. The leadership awards are given to recognize OSU community members for their skills in leadership, activism, community engagement, and creating the extraordinary student experience.

The Outstanding Senior Award is considered one of the highest honors given to undergraduate student leaders. Awarded to less than 1% of graduating students, it recognizes seniors who have excelled in leadership, service, and scholarship throughout their time at OSU.

“As I reflect on my time at Ohio State, I never imagined myself as a ‘leader,’” Lidia commented. “I simply wanted to create a welcoming environment for all students regardless of nationality and immigration status. I am thankful to be recognized as an Outstanding Senior not only for myself but for my community.”

Lidia will soon be graduating from the university with degrees in Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies and Public Management, Leadership and Policy. Congratulations to her on the award win!
