WGSS professor Dr. Linda Mizejewski was recently nominated and awarded the title of Distinguished College Professor by the College of Arts and Sciences!

The title of Distinguished College Professor is awarded to full professors who have a record of excellence in teaching, research, scholarly or creative work, and service to their department, college, university, profession, and/or the community. Chosen nominees hold the title until leaving or retiring from the university, and no more than 10% of full professors in the college can hold this title at any given time.

Dr. Mizejewski specializes in feminist media studies and film studies, and teaches courses such as Hollywood, Women and Film (WGSST 3317) and Studies in Gender and Cinema (WGSST 4527) throughout the year. She served as the Women's Studies department chair for four years and has written and edited several books, such as It Happened One Night (2019) and Pretty/Funny: Women Comedians and Body Politics (2014). Most recently Dr. Mizejewski is the co-editor of the Susan Koppelman Award-winning anthology, Hysterical! American Women in Comedy (2017), and has served on the department’s Undergraduate Studies and Graduate Studies committees this year.

Congratulations to Dr. Mizejewski on her amazing achievement, and thank you for all of your hard work!
