Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

What's So Scary about WGSS?

October 27, 2025
3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
2144 Ohio Union, Traditions Room

Gender studies has been cast as the villain in today’s political theater—misrepresented, attacked, and even treated as a threat to society itself. But maybe what's so "scary" about gender studies isn't the critiques; it's the power of the field to expose oppression, envision more just futures, and imagine different worlds. Join a panel of faculty in the Department of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies for a timely conversation on the stakes of gender studies today, the challenges it faces, and the transformative possibilities it opens up.

Open to all students, staff, faculty, and community members. Costumes welcome (optional), and food and drinks provided for our spooky-season theme!

When: Monday, October 27th from 3:30-5:00 PM
Doors open: 3:00 PM
Room Location: Ohio Staters, Inc. Traditions Room (2nd Floor, Ohio Union room 2120)
