People like Niya Kenny, Feidin Santana, and Ramsey Orta have used cell phone videos to call public attention to the police killings of Eric Garner and Walter Scott and the officer assault of high school student Shakara. They have also used videos to capture the life stories of those targetted by the police--stories that are missing from mainstream media.  COME JOIN US for a workshop training on using cell phone video cameras for community-based documentation, led by local filmmaker and activist Rashida Davison. A session on knowing your rights when dealing with the police will follow, led by local lawyer and activist Sean Walton, Jr. This is an explicitly Black and Brown, trans, queer, and women/girl/feminine affirming event. Bring your cell phones!Pizza and drinks will be provided.
