Deborah L. Rhode, Ernest W. McFarland Professor of Law
“From Platitudes to Priorities: Diversity and Gender Equity in the Workplace.”
This lecture focused on why diversity is an ethical imperative and also focued on the stalled progress for women and minorities at leadership levels in the American workforce. A central problem is the lack of perception that there is a serious problem, or one that society should actively seek to address. The lecture explored the extent and explanations of the underrepresentation of women and minorities, suggested why it matters, and identified strategies for change.
