Ali's research interests lie in critically analyzing film and television, literature, and video games as microcosms for various institutions and systems of oppression. The focus of this research is social categories in these mediums as they are (un/mis)represented, marrying my desire to analyze dominant culture and media with my feminist agenda for social justice and accountability.
