Professor Gale Greenlee joins WGSS as a visiting scholar this academic year. She brings a wealth of experience in publicly engaged teaching and scholarship, specializing in Black feminism and women of color critiques, literature and art. She has worked in public literacy programs in several different venues. Her scholarship focuses on narratives about girlhood by Black and Latinx authors, with a particular interest in Appalachian studies. She is also interested in building the ways we engage the public through a range of technologies and platforms.
This autumn, Professor Greenlee lead a job market webinar on postdoc and employment outside of academics. In the spring, she will teach the courses Black and Latinx Girlhoods (WGSST 2306) and Women of Color: Art, Literature and Culture (WGSST 4540).
