How do feminist, queer, and critical race theories “trickle down” into the creation of popular culture? Entertainment industry insiders will discuss how their educational experiences and critical concepts circulate in their work.

Cultural critic and digital media consultant Latoya Peterson (Racialicious), comedian and writer Angela V. Shelton (Frangela), and Lisa Thrasher independent film producer, professor, and President of Film Production and Distributions for POWER UP Films will be in conversation with moderators Kimberly Springer and Linda Mizejewski from Ohio State’s Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
