The Ohio State Center for Feminist Research, Education and Engagement (FREE Center) is pleased to announce that the Fall Writing Retreat for Graduate Students will be held on Thursday, December 11th, 2025.

The event will be a one-day retreat for OSU graduate students, running from 9am - 4pm, at the Research Commons in the 18th Avenue Library. The day will be divided into a morning and afternoon session, and you may attend one or both sessions.

Schedule:

9:00 - 9:30 - Check in and breakfast
9:30 - 10:00 - Introductions and community building
10:00 - 12:30 - Dedicated quiet writing time
12:30 - 1:30 - Lunch
1:30 - 4:00 - Dedicated quiet writing time
4:00 - Wrap up

The FREE Center Writing Retreat provides a quiet space to work, structured writing time, light breakfast and a catered lunch, and an encouraging, motivating community. All participants should be engaged in feminist scholarship and working on academic writing projects (doctoral dissertation, master’s thesis, article/book chapter, etc.).
