With a career spanning more than four decades, Suzan Pitt is one of the most lauded and influential independent animators of her generation. Best known for her landmark Asparagus (which was paired with David Lynch’s Eraserhead for two years on the midnight movie circuit), Pitt has created an astonishing body of dreamlike, handmade films that have screened around the globe. Tonight we present a selection of prints recently restored by the Academy Film Archive including Bowl, Theatre, Garden, Marble Game (1970), Crocus (1971), Whitney Commercial (1973), Jefferson Circus Songs (1975), Asparagus (1978), and Joy Street (1995). (Program approx. 120 mins., 16 & 35mm)
