Add to Calendar 2020-01-09 16:30:00 2020-01-09 17:45:00 Susan Stryker Public Lecture: The State of Transgender Studies Dr. Susan Stryker is an Associate Professor of Gender and Women's Studies at the University of Arizona and a Visiting Professor of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Yale University. An award-winning scholar and filmaker, Dr. Stryker is known for her work on gender and human sexuality. Some of her work includes publications such as The Transgender Studies Reader, Gay by the Bay: A History of Queer Culture in the San Francisco Bay Area, Queer Pulp: Perverse Passions in the Golden Age of the Paperback, Transgender History: The Roots of Today's Revolution, and her Emmy award-winning film, Screaming Queens: The Riot at Compton Cafeteria. Additionally, she is the founding co-editor of the academic journal TSQ: Transgender Studies Quarterly. Dr. Stryker will be visiting campus for a free, public discussion moderated by Dr. Jian Chen (OSU, English and WGSS) on Thursday, January 9th, 2020. Please join us for the event.
