Joy Ellison is a PhD student in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Ohio State University. Their current research focuses on the history of transgender organizing against prisons.
Joy spent three years supporting Palestinian-led nonviolent resistance movements in the village of At-Tuwani. Their MA research was on queer and transgender movements against Brand Israel "pinkwashing" rhetoric.
In their spare time, Joy is a writer. They hope to release their first graphic novel soon.
