Mia Cai Cariello is an M.A. student and Graduate Teaching Associate at The Ohio State University in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Department. Her broad research focus is on sexual and gendered violence, self-defense objects, anti-rape activism, and inter/intragenerational knowledge surrounding safety.

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies with minors in human rights, Asian-American studies and studio art from The Ohio State University in 2021. During her undergraduate career, Mia was involved in Take Back the Night at The Ohio State University, Transracial Adoptees at Ohio State, and OSU Votes.
